    The tradition of Werzeit wooden toy makers goes back to 1958, when several master carpenters from Werdau came together to form a PGH (production cooperative of the woodworking trade). One of the foundations of production was the production of educationally valuable, dismountable wooden toys with a natural lacquer finish to enable preschool education for children of all social classes. Therefore the PGH received the honorary name Friedrich Froebel.
