  • About us :

The company history of Dual begins around 1900. At that time it was still producing spring drives and small parts for watches. In 1927 the company presented a combination of spring drive and electric motor - the so-called "DUAL motor". This then gave the name to the turntables equipped with them and later to the company. Another milestone was the first dual record changer model "1000", which was presented at the 1949 World Exhibition. At that time, Dual was already producing around 200,000 drives annually, and the first crystal systems and case devices were available from the 1950s. New developments such as tape recorders, tuners, amplifiers, loudspeakers and compact systems followed and were marketed extremely successfully. 1971 DUAL took over the competing company PE. While the 1970s were still quite successful, the surprising bankruptcy came in 1982 with the takeover by THOMSON. 1988 DUAL was then sold to Schneider-Rundfunkwerke AG, who added televisions to the range. Dual Phono GmbH, based in St. Georgen in the Black Forest, continues to own a license for the production of turntables under the brand name “Dual”, which is characterized by the designation “CS ”In the type designation and“ Made in Germany ”from the other models. Sintron Distribution GmbH in Iffezheim has been responsible for sales of these models since 2006.
