    The company was founded on May 5, 1960 by the then 18-year-old Joachim Kiesler, together with two watchmakers, as PGH Fernsehen, Rundfunk, Uhren and was initially intended to repair radio and television sets. In the course of time the focus of the company shifted more and more towards the development and production of own devices in the field of sound engineering. In 1972 the cooperative was expropriated and converted into VEB Musikelectronic Geithain (MEG), which was still managed by Joachim Kiesler, in the role of technical director.
