My enthusiasm for loudspeakers began early: in 1974, when I was just 13 years old, I grabbed a couple of old Grundig music chests during a bulky waste campaign in Berlin, which nobody wanted anymore at the time. I dismantled them, tuned the tube amplifiers, disposed of the old housings and had new ones cut to size in the small wood market. I built separate speakers with new crossovers from the chassis, so that in the end I had complete stereo systems. I sold them to friends, very proud of my first self-made money. During my engineering studies I continued to work intensively on the physics of loudspeakers. Soon I was developing and building small series - coaxial systems that almost no one knew about back then. After graduating, I first founded an engineering office specializing in developments for companies in the fields of medical, measurement and control technology. But I soon realized that I was missing something. I just wanted to build loudspeakers - so I decided to turn my hobby into a job.
