  • About us :

The Boschenhof is located in the Allgäu between Isny and Leutkirch at 720 m above sea level, not far from the Austrian and Swiss borders. The 45 hectare family business, which has probably existed for 200 years, was converted into one of the first bio-dynamic farms in the Allgäu in the early 1970s. In 1978 the first Demeter hard cheese dairy in Germany was founded here. In 1985 there was a change of ownership and the Boschenhof was run as a farm community in the legal form of Boschenhof KG for many years with changing occupations Balser and Jakob Schweiger (Boschen Kuh & Käse GbR) leased. Jakob Schweiger has been running the farm alone since the cheese dairy was closed in January 2020 and Mr. Balser and Ms. Schneider left the farm & Co.KG. Boschenhof GmbH & Co.KG still owns the land and operates the forest, and it has always been important to preserve and breed the original Allgäu brown cattle as a cultural asset on the farm. With the entry of the GG-Stiftung gGmbH, this effort was intensified. We are proud that the Society for the Preservation of Old and Endangered Pet Breeds e.V., GEH for short, named us the first and only Arche farm in southern Baden Württemberg in spring 2016. The farm is also a shelter and learning space for many people and so Anselm and Michaela Kuhle have been offering youth welfare here for many years as part of intensive, social individual care.
