The CaJa Käseveredelung GbR was founded in November 2002 by the siblings Carolin Wiegelmann (née Widmann) and Jan-Kristian Widmann. The company's headquarters are in Waiblingen-Beinstein in the Rems-Murr district (approx. 15 km from the state capital Stuttgart) The Widmann siblings got an insight into the process and organization of a company through their parents' business and were able to gain a wide range of experience in the food industry. Through many years of work in sales, they also developed a feeling for customer needs and trends in the market. Carolin Wiegelmann (née Widmann) successfully completed the diploma course in International Business Administration at the European School of Business in Reutlingen and the Dublin City University in Ireland. Jan-Kristian Widmann completed his training at Milchwerke Berchtesgadener Land Chiemgau eG and just as successfully passed his industrial clerk exam at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He also trained as a cheese sommelier and commercial specialist. Jan Widmann has been a member of the international cheese guild "Saint-Ugozon" since 2016. Through vocational school and studies, the founders gained sound business knowledge, which they were able to deepen through various practical experiences during their training in the company and several internships.
