About us :
Our family business has been run by the family for several generations, but before that the "paper mill" had an eventful history. Our large half-timbered house was built in 1701 and was used for paper production for a long time. It was not until 1900 that paper production was stopped and an agricultural business was set up. The company has been family-owned since the 1920s. Agricultural buildings from that time no longer exist, but the large house that has shaped the courtyard for decades now serves as a residential building for the family, has space for a holiday apartment and several guest rooms that are rented out to holidaymakers since the mid-1970s For years, "farm holidays" are offered, so that families with children can get a taste of the country air and get an insight into life on a modern farm, especially in summer. Our farm is managed by Elmar (agricultural master) and Heidrun Möcklinghoff ( Master of rural housekeeping) and the sons Martin (agricultural master) and Elmar (industrial mechanic, currently student of agricultural sciences). For years, agricultural trainees have been completing an apprenticeship year on the farm to learn something about dairy farming, crop production and, more recently, about the energy industry. The fodder for the approx. 100 black and white dairy cows and their offspring is produced on 150 hectares. This is mixed in the feed mixer (right) and made freely available to the cows. Only the high-energy and protein-rich feed is purchased in controlled quality from the Raiffeisenwarenzentrale. In addition, the “feed” for the biogas plant, mainly silage maize, is grown.
