About us :
You have to think about it properly to feel the optimism you were in when the sale in Paderborn and the purchase in Holtum were sealed. ”, Says my grandfather in his memoirs. At Easter 1962, my grandparents and their three children moved into our current home on Twittenstrasse. Paderborn first needed their land for the expansion of a dairy and later for urban construction work, and after a long search of more than two years, they were finally offered the farm in Holtum. which I liked straight away. After a few days all the cows from Paderborn were stabled here. In addition to the agricultural work, the barn, which at the time only had a clay floor, was graveled and concreted so that the still unthreshed grain could be stored dry.In April 1962, my grandparents renovated the cowshed by, among other things, an 80 cm high feed trough In the following years the farm was paved, the former farm building was covered with new bricks and some lands were exchanged with other farmers. In 1977, at the proud age of 102, my grandparents' house in Paderborn was demolished. Old oak beams and rafters were brought to Holtum by tractor and made into a spacious gazebo, where we often celebrate with family and friends today. In 1990 we built (after all, I was already 10 years old and could lend a hand) our box playpen on Twittenstrasse and tore down the old pigsties. In 1995 this barn was expanded so that there was enough space for our around 50 cows and 10 cattle. As you can read, the cows have always been part of us! The product “milk” became more and more commonplace in the years that followed, so that the profitability of a cow farm had to be questioned. It was a matter of either investing and growing or closing the shop. We decided on the former. I didn't want to give up the animals that quickly, but today in 2019 we're in a similar situation again. We want to focus on the value of milk as a nutrient-rich, healthy food and offer the real taste. That is why we decided in spring to set up our own small farm dairy. If you want to know more, read on under "our product".
