The production of fresh maritime pastes, which dates back to 1880, is still the basis of all innovative developments today. The product range consists of gourmet stocks, soups, sauces and pastes. The success story began in 1965 when the company was founded by Jürgen Langbein. The first products such as crab and lobster paste were made on Hindenburgstrasse in Hamburg. The idea behind it was that Hamburg's gourmet restaurants could pamper their guests with specialties outside of the crab catching season. Production and sales were organized with just two people. Over the next few years, Langbein continuously expanded its range. Soups and sauces were added and larger production sites had to be found again and again. In 1988, a new building was built in Kaltenkirchen near Hamburg on around 5000 square meters, which is still the company location today. 10 years later, in 1998, the company became the property of the Richter family. Organic certification followed in the same year and IFS Food in 2011. Today, around 50 people are employed in production and sales, who take care of around 210 different products. In addition to the classics from the founding times, a large number of soups, sauces, ready meals and stocks are now produced. The secret of every recipe is the quality of the raw materials, which are sourced from hand-picked suppliers, as well as great care in production. On a production area of ​​around 3,000 square meters, the soups are cooked in 400 liter kettles with huge cooking spoons and then bottled. Langbein products are available from food retailers and wholesalers.
