Ferrero has existed in Germany since 1956. The German location was the first Ferrero location outside of Italy. Michele Ferrero, son of Pietro Ferrero - one of the original company founders - laid the foundation stone for Ferrero in Germany with the establishment of the plant in Stadtallendorf, Hesse. The first brands that were produced in Stadtallendorf were the nut nougat cream "Cremalba" - a pioneer of Nutella - and the liqueur cherry praline Mon Chéri. Then as now, almost all brands sold in Germany are produced in Stadtallendorf. Ferrero Germany has become the market leader in the German confectionery market and the plant in Stadtallendorf has become one of the largest in the Ferrero Group. The Ferrero Group regularly provides investments for the modernization of the site. The largest employer in the Marburg-Biedenkopf region also remains a point of reference for retired Ferrero employees. In the direct vicinity of the production site there is a meeting place for retired Ferrero employees: the "Opera Sociale Ferrero" (translated: "Social Work Ferrero"). The headquarters of sales, marketing, IT and other central departments of Ferrero Germany has been since 1965 the Ferrero house in Frankfurt. The Main metropolis is only about 100 km south of Stadtallendorf and offers an ideal infrastructure for international cooperation in the Ferrero Group.
