Founded in Gütersloh by Franz Bunte in 1895, the company initially concentrated on the sale of beer, lemonades and mineral water. When responsibility was handed over to Paul Gehring, Franz Bunte's son-in-law, the company was renamed "Gehring-Bunte". From 1934 to 2007, the family business took over the production of Coca-Cola for its own sales area Generation finally passed to Diplom-Kaufmann Dr. jur. Paul Gehring and master brewer Werner Gehring, the sons of Paul Gehring Senior, have been selling premium mineral water, soft drinks, fruit juice and tea drinks under the Christinen brand since 1966. The company fills beverages in almost all commercially available container types and sizes. Under the managing director Guido Grebe, the company has been investing increasingly in technology, construction and digitalization since 2018. One example is the investment in a fully automated high-bay warehouse with 8,700 pallet spaces. This expanded the company's storage capacity to a total of 30,000 pallet spaces. A building complex with social rooms, a canteen, new laboratories and offices was also modernized.
