From horse collars to elegant leather bags. The company name “M. Thielemann ”stands for the great-grandfather Moritz Thielemann, who founded our company in the form of a small saddlery in his house in Leppersdorf in 1897. In the early years mainly products were manufactured and repaired for the surrounding farmers etc. Gradually, the production profile expanded to include leather belts, leather and fabric bags, rucksacks, etc. As production and the number of employees grew steadily, a building opposite became the new company domicile after a total renovation. During this time, mainly export items such as rucksacks, duffel bags, leather and fabric bags were produced for most of the large department store chains in Germany. In 1990 the company was re-privatized by Wolfgang Thielemann and converted into a GmbH. Since then, our company has produced almost exclusively leather bags and small leather goods in many variations. Today our company has 11 employees and one trainee and is managed by the grandson of the company founder Wolfgang Thielemann and his son-in-law Gunter Wolf.
