As early as 1948, several small family businesses joined forces to successfully market their products together. As the demand for durable plastic articles increased, injection molding production began in the 1970s. This is still an important part of the company, which has existed in its current form since 1990. Today, the company employs between 70 and 100 people on an area of 36,000 m² - depending on the seasonal workload. After just 6 years of successful company development, in 2006 the company moved to a new production hall with a social and administrative wing. Investments were made consciously in structural measures within the region, which were additionally strengthened by this new building. This decision underscores the ties to the region and the highly qualified employees who are based here and who represent the basis of today's success. In the meantime, KHW Geschwenda is one of the largest manufacturers of plastic sledges and the global market leader in this segment. She is involved in winter sports as a partner and guarantees leisure fun for the whole family with her popular range of sledges winter after winter. In addition to these domestic successes, the export business in particular has been expanded very successfully in the last 10 years, so that around 70% of all sledges leave the company for foreign countries. However, the high-tech, modern company in Thuringia has long been producing far more than just a high-quality range of sports and leisure activities. With many years of experience and technical production know-how, the product range has been consistently expanded to other areas. Transport containers, storage boxes, bottle crates, garden furniture, flower boxes, decorative accessories and a large number of different plastic injection molded parts for the leisure and automotive industries are developed and produced in Geschwende today.
