    When Max Töpfer founded his company in Böhlen near Leipzig in 1911, he was the first manufacturer of baby food in Germany. In close cooperation with well-known medical professionals, he developed his products, which at that time already met the highest hygienic and technical standards. In 1923 Töpfer GmbH moved from Leipzig to Dietmannsried in the Allgäu, where production is still carried out today. Incidentally, the move had become necessary because Max Töpfer wanted the raw material quality? that is the quality of the milk? was no longer sufficient at the old location. As a result, he settled with all of his work in the middle of nature, in the Allgäu. In 1927, the development of dry rice gruel followed in collaboration with the famous Berlin Charité? the beginning of a successful collaboration between medicine and nature at Töpfer. Because as early as 1932, Töpfer developed the milk-free baby food Lactopriv® together with Prof. György from the USA. Only four or four years later, the Töpfer Children's Kleiebad saw the light of day and is still one of our most successful products. It was not until 1953 that the company was able to build on its success story and, together with Prof. Adam, developed the baby milk formula Lactana® with bifid growth substance, which has a positive effect on the intestinal flora and is therefore suitable as a substitute for breast milk from day one. Incidentally, Lactana was not only of interest to babies: In the 1960s, Lactana products accompanied mountaineers on their Himalayan expedition. And even today, do parents still trust Lactana? However, with a significantly improved recipe and produced according to organic quality. When the Gabler family took over the shares in the company in 1958, little changed at first: In 1966, Lactana® was further developed and now enriched with living bifidobacteria. This method, which is still in use today because it is extremely effective, was developed together with Prof. J. B. Mayer. Lactana Bifidum fruit porridge has been available for babies since 1972? and thus the security for parents that they can continue to feed their child responsibly even after the first milk. And what is good for children can also be useful for adults: According to this motto, Töpfer launched ProBifido, a probiotic food for regenerating the intestinal flora, on the market in 1982. In 1989, when others were still smiling about organic, Töpfer decided on baby foods consistently produce in organic quality and hit the hearts of many parents. Spurred on by the success of organic food, Töpfer also used his knowledge of nature and its active ingredients for baby care from 2007: Wheat bran and calendula are the basic ingredients of numerous care products that are controlled according to strict guidelines as natural cosmetics - another big step in the field Töpfer succeeded in infant nutrition in 2008 with the market launch of organic baby food with LCPUFA: LCPUFA is an essential component of breast milk, which plays an important role in the development of the nervous system, the brain and eyesight. If a child cannot be breastfed, LCPUFA has to be taken in via other channels.Töpfer has been producing for 100 years with the same consequence: The quality standards have grown over the years, as has our sense of responsibility towards the environment and our obligations towards our customers.
