In 1932 there was a decisive innovation when August Fischer succeeded in developing the world's first ready-to-use, crystal-clear synthetic resin adhesive. It reliably bonds all materials known at the time, even the first plastics such as Bakelite®. As was common in the paper, office and stationery industry at the time, he chose the name of a bird for his new product: "UHU Der Alleskleber".
