Neudorff looks back on over 160 years of history. The chemical factory W. Neudorff GmbH KG was founded in 1854 in Königsberg in what was then Prussia. At the time, it was one of the first German companies to manufacture pesticides and animal care products. The company's founder was Wilhelm Neudorff, a dyer with a particular interest in chemistry. He developed a range of different bath products, tinctures, ointments and cosmetics. But he also had the Persian insect powder made from a natural chrysanthemum extract, pyrethrum, as a pest control. In 1903 the company was relocated to Wuppertal, where it expanded its range of chemical-pharmaceutical products. Plant protection, pest control and animal care products were already being produced in the mid-1920s. Even then, value was placed on products that were as safe as possible. In 1959 Rudolf Lohmann bought the company and relocated to Emmerthal. A whole range of new products was then developed and produced here. We recognized early on that there was a market for environmentally friendly products for hobby gardeners. We have consistently expanded this product line. Our program, which we are still working on today, became more and more complex. Over the years we have developed environmentally friendly processes, preparations and devices that are ideally suited for use in natural gardening, in ecological horticulture and agriculture as well as in integrated plant cultivation. Our administration and production headquarters in Emmerthal include a production facility in Lüneburg where we have mainly been producing organic solid fertilizers and our slug pellets since 1987. There is also a large production facility for our crop protection products in Emmerthal. In the modern experimental nursery near Hameln, we develop many products and bring them to practical use. In total, Neudorff employs over 300 people (as of 2017). Neudorff products are available in every good garden specialist worldwide.
