Jung was founded in 1828 and has operated under the name JUNG BONBONFABRIK GmbH & Co. KG for the past few decades. Originally baked goods were made, later sweets. The first steps in the direction of promotional sweets are documented in a letter from 1910. In addition to cough lozenges, gift sweets are also mentioned. This original form of the advertising candy was not yet wrapped and printed, but the "gift candy" can definitely be described as a giveaway from the very beginning. According to the company, advertising candy was therefore invented by Jung. In 1999, the company opened Germany's first candy museum and the Gummibärenland outlet store in Kleinglattbach. From there, television reported several times on candy production, including Galileo and Die Sendung mit der Maus. In 2002, the subsidiary emotion factory GmbH, based in Vaihingen an der Enz, was founded, which offered non-food products as advertising material across Europe, including advertising - Plants and articles in wood design. In 2016 the company was sold to Heri-Rigoni GmbH and in 2006 the subsidiary foodvertising GmbH & Co. KG was established in Arnstadt. There is a digital printing center as well as packaging systems for, among other things, Advent calendar and fruit gum bags. In 2018 foodvertising GmbH & Co. KG merged with JUNG since 1828 GmbH & Co. KG. The merger was used as an opportunity to change the company name from JUNG BONBONFABRIK GmbH & Co. KG to JUNG since 1828 GmbH & Co. KG. In the second quarter of 2021, the company headquarters in Vaihingen an der Enz moved to newer premises in the Ludwigsburg industrial area "Tammerfeld ". In this context, the company's own candy production was relocated. In the future, the sweets will be made by a well-known manufacturer in Germany according to the original recipe. Now JUNG since 1828 GmbH & Co. KG specializes primarily in the trade and manufacture of promotional items, as well as in the contract packaging business.
