The Mönchmühle, first mentioned in the sources in 1312, originally belonged to the Dominican monastery in Löwental and passed into the possession of the Ravensburg Carmelites around 1450. After several changes of ownership from 1807, it was acquired by master miller Wilhelm Schuler in 1860. Since then, the mill has been owned by the Schuler family as a family business in the fifth generation.
