The merchant Christoph Seeberger opened a grocery store in Ulmer Pfluggasse in 1844. His son Friedrich expanded the business with the opening of a coffee roastery in 1882, which at the time developed from a pleasure drink to a folk drink. In 1902 the expanding company moved to the larger property of Friedrich Seeberger's father-in-law. In 1924 Friedrich Seeberger jun. the enterprise. The coffee market largely collapsed after the First World War and Seeberger was only able to prevent the company from going bankrupt by selling groceries. Since his children were still minors, Julius Rohm joined Seeberger KG as a partner in 1949; he was initially busy with the consolidation of the company. As an importer and exporter of coffee and dried fruits, he relocated the company to these areas from 1952. In 1963 the company moved to new buildings in Neu-Ulm. In 1981 the North German market was opened up with the purchase of Schwartau-Import. In 1983 the company moved to the Danube Valley industrial area in Ulm. Julius Rohm senior died in 2004. 91 years old. Since then, the company has been run by his son and his nephew, Clemens Keller.
