The baking tradition on the part of the merger partner Jürgen Bräuninger goes back to the year 1616. At the time, the scene was not Middle Franconia, but Liebesdorf, now part of the city of Gerabronn (Schwäbisch Hall district). The first Bräuninger baker was at work in Neustadt an der Aisch in 1753. (Later a branch of the Bräuninger bakery was located at Bamberger Straße 7 in a half-timbered house built by Wendelinus Streicher in 1676). Since then, the tradition of the baking profession in the Bräuninger family has been passed on from generation to generation. This historical peculiarity was traced back and documented by genealogist Dietrich Heber, who also made it the subject of an exhibition that took place from December 6th to 17th, 2010 in the Branch of the Bräuninger bakery on Bamberger Strasse in Neustadt.
