Die Ponnath Die Meistermetzger GmbH is a German meat products company that has been family-owned since 1692. It is run in the twelfth generation by Michael Ponnath. The family business is a specialist in fresh sausage in the self-service area and a provider of regional Bavarian specialties. The products are available throughout Germany, among others. in food retail (from Aldi to Harrods) and in specialist wholesalers. In 2008, Ponnath had a market share of almost two percent in Germany for sausage products, making it the second largest sausage manufacturer after the Zur Mühlen Group and ahead of Stockmeyer (Heristo) at six production sites - in Kemnath, Knetzgau, Nuremberg, Freiburg, Annaberg-Buchholz and Sušice (Czech Republic ) - Ponnath the master butcher employs around 1,300 people, including over 100 skilled butchers and butchers.
