It develops, manufactures and sells biomaterials and implants for use in orthopedics. The products such as cannulated screws, standard plates, bone cement and bone replacement materials are used in traumatology and spine surgery. The company went public, then still on the Neuer Markt, on May 10, 1999; it has been listed in the Prime Standard segment since 2003. The issue price of the no-par value bearer ordinary shares was 10 euros. In 2004 Aap employed 100 people.
