The Schenck Process Group is an internationally active German mechanical engineering company based in Darmstadt. The company originated in Carl Schenck Maschinenfabrik GmbH, after it was founded by Carl Schenck in 1881 as an iron foundry and scale factory. Now part of Carl Schenck AG, today's Schenck Process developed into an independent company in the course of a management buyout (MBO) in 2005. The company has been part of the private equity firm Blackstone since 2017, and today Schenck Process has a leading global market position in the field of measurement and process technology. With its solutions, the company serves the food and plastics industries as well as the mining and iron ore mining sectors. Scheck Process develops, produces and sells its systems and services at around 40 locations in Europe, Asia, America, Africa and Oceania. In the 2020 financial year, the company generated sales of 592 million euros (2019: 632 million euros). It invests around 3 percent of sales in research and development every year.
