He was then a journeyman at Euler in Hofgeismar from 1951 to 1957 and deepened his skills and knowledge from 1958 to 1960 at Kruse in Lohne (Oldenburg).
He passed the master's examination in 1959.
He founded his own company in Frankenberg in 1960.
In addition to other employees, his sons Stephan Böttner and Christoph Böttner worked in the workshop.
By 1990, 120 new organs had been built.
Christoph Böttner completed a preparatory course for the master's examination in Ludwigsburg in 1987/1988.
In 1991 he passed the master's examination in Kassel and built his masterpiece (II/P/14) for the Evangelical Church in Wunderthausen.
He has been running the company since 1995. In addition to new construction, restoration and maintenance work is carried out.
