In October 2010 the legal form of the company was changed from an AG to a GmbH. The company produces machines, cells and systems for woodworking. In 1962, the two founders brought the first edge banding machine onto the market, which was able to glue the edges onto the narrow surfaces of panel-shaped workpieces (mostly chipboard from furniture parts) in a continuous process and to process them immediately in the same pass. This led to a considerable reduction in the process time for edge banding. According to its own information, the company is the world market leader in the field of edge banding machine production. Surface milling and edge milling were just as much a part of the company's range of machines as machining centers and conveyor technology for woodworking.
