Burrata means "buttered" in Italian, which indicates its creamy consistency.
Burrata is a typical pasta filata in the form of a sachet. A mozzarella made with viscous
filled with fresh cream and wrapped with a green leaf (similar to asphodel). Visually very
appealing.
About the story: In the past, in order to keep butter fresh longer, since people didn't have refrigerators, it was found that this butter lasted longer inside the cheese. This custom gave the cheese its name.
