Mild, harmonious, but full of flavor with a piquant grapefruit aroma and a spicy finish - that's St. Jost. The specialty is named after a small pilgrimage chapel near Lake Aegeri in Central Switzerland.
Set in a beautiful landscape of rolling hills and rugged mountains, the town has a rich history. The first evidence of a forest brothers' house dates back to 1350. Later documents refer to gifts such as milk, butter and cheese that the monk at the time received from the herdsmen. Our St. Jost is just as modest today as the believing monks were then, because it contains only half as much fat as normal cheese. The artisan production and traditional maturation with regular washing and turning give the cheese its unique, mild flavor despite the low fat content.
A delicate and natural delicacy for people who like it a little lighter and still don't want to miss out on the joy of indulgence.
