The Superb Sännächäs

Healthy cows, strengthened by the summer on the alp, by lush mountain pastures, cared for by hard-working "Sännä". The Sännächäs can only be made with the best raw milk, sweet and fine, natural and honest, sociable and balanced.

Proud professionals, free and god-fearing – these are the “Sännä” who have been migrating to the alp with their cattle every year for generations. Their long working days, accompanied only by the sounds of nature, cowbells and, on special days, by the melodies of an alphorn or yodel, they end with the traditional prayer. Their alpine culture has been preserved to this day, as has the artisanal cheese production based on old recipes using only the gifts of nature. This is how Sännächäs is still made in our valley cheese dairy after the cows have returned from the alp.

The Sännächäs is matured in the cave climate of Lustenberger & Dürst SA's cheese cellar. With a lot of care, it finds perfection in its fine, spicy aroma and creamy, hearty dough, flowery on the nose, full on the mouth and tender on the tongue.
