Poya cheese owes its name to the dairy cows' cattle drive at the beginning of summer.

The milk for this hard cheese comes exclusively from the Freiburg region and the cheese wheels mature in cool, damp cellars for six to nine months. Due to its strong and aromatic taste, it is also well suited for an aperitif or as a dessert cheese.
