Hydrogen chloride is a colorless gas with a sharp smell of acidity and heavier than air. It is easily converted into liquid and creates a nourishing liquid. It is combined with metals and metal oxides and their hydroxides. Hydrogen chloride gas, if dissolved in water, is called chloride. Hydrochloric acid is one of the most powerful mineral acids, and the substance is pale or pale yellow and is very corrosive and non-flammable. Hydrochloric acid is found naturally in gastric acid. Peach (pH) of this acid is between 0 and 2. The old hydrochloric acid, known as Acidem salis, moriotic acid and salt spirits, was known from vitriol (sulfuric acid) and salt. Free hydrochloric acid was first officially introduced by Andreas Livabois in the sixteenth century. Later, it was used by chemists like Johan Rudolf Gelber, Joseph Priestley and Humphrey Davy in their scientific research.
