Annealed wire is a versatile wire material made by undergoing a process called annealing, which involves heating the wire and then slowly cooling it to make it more malleable and flexible. This process improves the ductility, strength, and workability of the wires, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.
Black Annealed Wire
Annealed Wire is made of carbon steel wire, used for mesh weaving and baling in general.
Annealed wire is obtained by means of thermal annealing, endowing it with the properties it needs for its main use - setting. This wire is deployed both in civil construction and in agriculture. Hence, in civil construction annealed wire, also known as “burnt wire” is used for iron setting. In agriculture annealed wire is used for bailing hay.
ANNEALED WIRE FOR CIVIL CONSTRUCTION:
The annealing of bare wire (wire which has simply been drawn) can be carried out in batches (bell-type furnace) or in line (in-line furnace).
Annealing is intended to return to the wire its ductility which it had lost during drawing.
Annealed wire is stored in coils or spools of a varying weights and dimensions depending on the purposes for which it is intended and the needs of clients.
We offer mainly two kinds of annealed wire, bright annealed and black annealed wire.
Wire Materials: Iron wire or carbon steel wire.
Soft annealed wire offers excellent flexibility and softness through the process of oxygen free annealing.
Uses: Black annealed wire is mainly processed into coil wire, spool wire or big package wire. Or further straightened and cut into cut wire and U type wire. Annealed wire is used as tie wire or baling wire in building, parks and daily binding.
Packing: Spools, coils.
Wire Diameters: Similar to galvanized iron wire, from 5mm to 0.15mm (wire gauge 6# to 38#).

Black Annealed Wire - Binding rebar, reinforcing mesh, and baling wire
Black annealed wire is one of the most common types of annealed wire. It is a soft wire made from low carbon steel wire, which is heated to a high temperature and then slowly cooled. The annealing process relieves the internal stresses in the wire, making iron wire softer and more ductile, the black oxide coating that provides corrosion resistance.
Manufacturing process of black annealed wire:
Drawing low carbon steel wire through a series of dies to achieve the desired thickness; the drawn wire is then subjected to the annealing process, heating it in a controlled atmosphere furnace or by passing an electrical current through it; After annealing, the wire is cooled slowly resulting in a soft, black oxide layer on the surface.
Black annealed wire is mainly used in the construction industry for tying steel bars and reinforcing materials, also used for general purpose binding, baling, and packaging applications.
Dark annealed wire in 20 gauge, 18 gauge and 16 gauge can be used for wire sculpting and other crafting uses.
Bright Annealed Wire - Construction, fencing and wire mesh production
Bright Annealed Wire, can be Annealed Galvanized wire, in electro-galvanized and hot-dipped galvanized finish.
Manufacturing process of bright annealed wire: Similar annealing process as black annealed wire but with an additional step of galvanizing or electroplating.
Drawing low carbon steel wire through dies to achieve the desired thickness; the drawn wire is then annealed to make it softer and more ductile; after annealing, the wire is coated with a layer of zinc through a process called galvanizing. This coating provides corrosion resistance and gives the wire its bright appearance.
Characteristics of Bright annealed wire and uses:
Bright annealed wire, is characterized by its silver or shiny surface due to the zinc coating. It is available in various gauges and is widely used in applications where corrosion resistance is essential. It finds applications in construction, fencing, agriculture, and other industries where durability and longevity are required.
The key difference between black annealed wire and bright annealed wire lies in their appearance and corrosion resistance. Black annealed wire has a black or dark grey color due to the oxide layer and offers minimal corrosion resistance. In contrast, bright annealed wire has a shiny appearance due to the zinc coating, providing enhanced corrosion resistance.
Black annealed wire is soft and flexible, primarily used for tying and binding, while bright annealed wire (galvanized wire) is corrosion-resistant and durable, commonly used in construction and fencing.

Bright Annealed Wire Hot Dipped Galvanized:
Featuring higher tensile strength, good flexibility, uniform zinc coating, and strong corrosion resistance, HDG wire is mainly used for a various kinds of metal knitting, weaving, automobile and tractor air filter, construction, making of handicrafts.
