Vaginitis is the most common problem in women's urinary tract that women seek for treatment due to it. There are more than ten million outpatient visits annually due to vaginitis. Most experts believe that 90% of cases of vaginitis are secondary to bacterial vaginosis, candidiasis and trichomoniasis.

Thymol and carvacrol are one of the most effective components of thyme. The thymol antibacterial and antifungal activity is well known, and it seems to be due to the permeation of the cell membrane and the rapid release of intracellular constituents. Phenolic compounds of Thyme (Thymol and Carvacrol) also provide antibacterial activity by creating a complex with bacterial membrane proteins.

Thymol and Carvacrol are responsible for the thyme's antiseptic properties. A synergistic effect on the combination of thymol and carvacrol has also been identified. From a range of tested materials, a free hydroxyl group appears to be bound to an antifungal agent with an alkyl moiety.

In a randomized, double blind randomized controlled trial, 62 patients with candida vaginitis used a lacourse vaginal cream (containing essential oil of Shiitake) or a clotrimazole vaginal cream for one week. Based on the results of this study, compared to the vaginal cream of colutrimazole; vaginal cream was more effective on most of the symptoms (p <0.05). The effect of vaginal cream on glycemic symptoms was better than vaginal cream of colutrimazole. According to the physician's opinion, there was no difference in efficacy between the two drugs (p = 0.071). Also, no significant side effects were reported in the two treatment groups.

In another randomized, randomized controlled trial, 61 patients with Gardnerella vaginitis used a vaginal Lacroix cream with a dose of one applicator per night or oral metronidazole tablet with a dose of 2 tablets every 12 hours for one week. The results of this study showed that both drugs reduced the symptoms of the disease, such as bad fish odors, homogeneous secretion, erythema, and vaginal edema and clue cells (p = 0.000). In all cases, the response rate to vaginal cream was better, and even improved erythema and vaginal edema significantly better than metronidazole (p = 0.02).

In a clinical trial, 90 married women aged 18-40 years with bacterial vaginosis were randomly divided into two equal groups and used Vaginal Vaginal Lacroix vaginal cream or metronidazole vaginal gel once for 5 nights and after 7-2 days The effects of these two drugs on the symptoms of the patients were studied. The diagnostic tool was the use of Amsel's cryotherapy and warm staining of discharge smears. Based on the results of this post-treatment study, symptoms of patients and their Amsel cirrhosis significantly decreased. Vaginal burning was reported in 14% of users of Vaginal Cretaceous vaginal cream and in 4.5% of vaginal gastric users of metronidazole. In metronidazole vaginal gel users, dizziness (6.8%) and metallic taste sensation (4.5%) were reported, but not reported in leukuracic users. The researchers concluded that the therapeutic effects of Vaginal Cremax on bacterial vaginosis are similar to the vaginal gel of metronidazole. In cases where the patient is interested in using herbal medicines or with complications from metronidazole, the vaginal cream of Lukores can be a good choice for treating bacterial vaginosis.

In a randomized, double blind clinical trial, 140 patients with trichomoniasis of the vagina, 140 patients with bacterial vaginosis and 140 patients with simultaneous vaginal trichomoniasis and bacterial vaginosis who were referred to women's clinics of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences were examined. . For each referring woman, one sample was sent to the laboratory for diagnosis of Trichomoniasis infection based on positive wet smear and a warm-staining sample was sent to the lab for diagnosis of bacterial vaginosis. With definite diagnosis of trichomoniasis or bacterial vaginosis, or both, the patient was randomly assigned to the block in the test or control group. In experimental groups, patients with vaginal cream were given 0.1% thyme shirazi (modified modified lacrine cream) and placebo tablets for one week. In control groups, patients received two tablets of metronidazole 250 mg twice daily and a placebo vaginal cream for one week. The participants in the study were asked to take no other medicine during this period. Spouses of all patients with Trichomonas vaginalis were also treated with two oral tablets of metronidazole 250 mg twice a day for one week, and patients were advised to use condom if they had close proximity. Seven days after the end of the treatment, the first load was resumed. Then, the results were analyzed by Wilcoxon, Mann-Whitney U, Quark, and Fisher exact tests. Based on the results of this study, there was no significant difference in the percentage of improvement in clinical symptoms between the two treatment groups in all three types of vaginitis (p> 0.5). Comparison of the results of the staining experiment in the bacterial vaginosis group and the bacterial vaginosis combined with Trichomonas was similar in two treatment groups (p = 0.72 and p = 0.221). Comparison of the results of wet smear test in the trichomonias group and combined bacterial vaginosis with trichomoniasis in the two treatment groups showed that the effect of metronidazole was greater than that of Shirazi vein cream
(P = 0.001 and p = 0.01). In terms of drug side effects, 17.5% of users of metronidazole and 4. 4% of vaginal users of T. pneumoniae had a drug complication (p <0.001). In terms of type of complication, in the metronidazole group, they felt the taste of the metal in the mouth (11.6 Percentage), headache (3.9%),
