Temporary Strainer

Temporary strainers are used to remove unwanted particles from pipelines and to protect pumps, gauges, valves, and other similar mechanical equipment at the start-up of lines to prevent unwanted material such as welding electrodes, etc. Construction on pipelines has been prevented at start-up.

The task of filtration of these strings is performed by one or more layers of mesh reinforced by a perforated plate. These perforated plates are usually rolled into Conical Conical, Truncated Conical (Basket Type) or Flat (Plate type) mounted pipelines.

However, these strainers are usually designed and manufactured in sizes from 2 to 24 inches to the nominal diameter of pipelines. Placing a Conical type temporary strainer and Basket type temporary strainer in pipelines can be done in two ways (cones in the flow direction or vice versa), each of which has its disadvantages and advantages.

The body of these strainers is defined according to the mechanical and chemical characteristics of the pipelines, but nonetheless Stainless Steel, Carbon Steel, and Monel are the most commonly used strainers.
