A 2013 Cochrane study states:

"Removable casts (TCC) are the most effective means of relieving pressure to treat diabetic foot ulcers."

The gold standard for the treatment and healing of diabetic foot ulcers
3 simple steps: preparation, plastering and wearing boots, use
Done in less than 10 minutes.
Convenience and coordination in the use of this product reduces the possibility of tissue damage.
It takes a little time to learn how to use it.
The light weight of the product creates a comfortable position for the patient.

Preparing the patient's foot for casting
1. Dress the wound with foam inside the set.
2. Wear a special sock to pull it below the knee and fold the excess from the bottom and fix it with glue.
3. Place the protective cover on the foot so that its narrow end is towards the knee and its wide end completely covers the whole face and sole of the foot until the back of the leg, and then fix it in place with glue.
4. Roll a thick sock (in the shape of a donut) and put it on the patient's foot to lift it below the patient's knee.
5. Fold the socks and protective pad at the knee and fold the extra part at the bottom of the sock.

Plaster the patient's foot
1. Place the patient lying on his stomach. Make sure the water temperature is between 22-27 ° C.
2. Put the gypsum that we rolled (donut shape) in water for 5-10 seconds.
3. Open the rolled plaster to the top of the ankle and in this case we must make sure the angle of the ankle is 90 degrees. Hold the plaster in this position for a few moments.
4. From the wrist to the knee, open the plaster roll.
5. Rub the gypsum surface well by hand and shape it and smooth the gypsum surface. Do this for 3 to 5 minutes.

Wear support shoes (boots)

1. Let the patient sit for 15 to 20 minutes until the cast is dry.
2. Put the shoe (boot) on the patient's foot. Make sure the side pillars of the shoe are aligned with the patient's tibia and fibula bones.
3. The patient can walk.
4. In case of deformity, use Charcot shoes.
5. Restrict the patient's movement for the first 24 hours.
6. Always wear shoes when walking.
