Types of pumps

A pump is a mechanical means of transporting liquids that, by increasing its flow pressure, allows liquids to be moved to higher altitudes (by increasing the head) or even downstream (usually the pool or reservoir).

A pump is generally a device that receives mechanical energy from an external source and transfers it to the fluid that passes through it. As a result, the energy of the fluid increases after leaving this device (pump). Pumps are used to transfer fluid to a certain height or move it in a plumbing or hydraulic system. In general, the pump is used to transfer fluid from one point to another. There are different types of pumps, each with its own application.
The most important pumps used in this unit are:

Centrifugal pumps: These are the types of energy that are constantly transferred to the fluid. Centrifugal pumps usually receive their driving force through an electric motor. The transfer of driving force from the engine to the pump is transmitted through an axis called the shaft. The motor shaft is connected to the pump shaft by a type of mechanical equipment called coupling. In this way, the power transmission is easily transferred to the pump shaft through the electric motor shaft. Centrifugal pumps have a spiral chamber called a shell, and inside it are one or more wheels mounted on a shaft. Each wheel is equipped with a number of blades. Energy transfer to the fluid is done in this section. To prevent the shaft from leaking out of the fluid pump case and not to leak out, a tool called a mechanical seal was used. The most important thing about these types of pumps is to ventilate or prime the pump before turning them on. This means that after the line is pumped and the fluid enters the pump, it is necessary to ensure the complete outflow of air or gas trapped inside the pump. These types of pumps are made in different dimensions and sizes for different uses
