Biochemistry:
Insecticide which acts as blocker of the GABA-regulated chloride channel. Insects resistant or tolerant to pyrethroid, cyclodiene and/ or carbamate insecticides are susceptible to fipronil.
Mode of action:
Broad-spectrum insecticide, toxic by contact and ingestion. Can be used to control insects when applied as a soil or seed treatment. Good and excellent residual control following foliar application.
Uses:
Its recommended at 20 kg/ha against rice stem borer ( just once a year) in other countries its used against vegetable root weevils and termits in buildings, fields and orchards.
