Brand: KEMPG/ industrial grade
Introduction
Propylene glycol is a derivative of propylene oxide that is produced and distilled in a two-step process. The first step is the reaction of PO with water, which results in a mixture of KEMPG and KEDPG and heavier glycols. In the second step, this mixture is distilled to separate its components from each other.
General applications
KEMPG is used as a raw material in the production of unsaturated polyester resins, an active component in antifreeze for car windshields, boats and airplane wings. KEMPG has a very low freezing point and acts as a thickening agent and helps fluid stick to surfaces. KEMPG is used as a solvent in the paint, coating, glazing and surface polishing industry. KEMPG improves paint brushability due to its high boiling point.
Unsaturated polyester resins
The main application of KEMPG is as a raw material in the production of unsaturated polyester resins. Unsaturated polyester resins market includes:
*Commercial and residential construction
* Maritime applications
* Transportation
Unsaturated polyester resins are reinforced with fiberglass to create a strong and light plastic composite so that they can be used in building and car panels, yachts, bathroom fixtures, pipes and channels.
Cars/air equipment
KEMPG is used as an active component in antifreeze for car windshields, boats and airplane wings. KEMPG has a very low freezing point and acts as a thickening agent and helps fluid stick to surfaces.
Ice accumulates on the top layer of the chemical and can then be easily removed. When the water-glycol mixture is frozen, it maintains its fluidity and does not cause additional pressure in pipes and tanks. In accordance with this characteristic, MPG is also an ideal solution to be used to prevent cold failure in piping systems.
The KEMPG process for use in this application includes the following:
Low freezing point
Low toxicity to mammals
Low flammability
Excellent heat transfer properties
High boiling point, low vapor pressure
Also, KEMPG is a very suitable choice for the production of polyethylene glycols used in brake hydraulic systems because it is able to provide the required lubrication, act as an antifreeze, and help reduce the swelling of rubber parts.
Colors and coatings
KEMPG is used as a solvent in the industry of paint, coating, glazing and ... surface polishers. KEMPG improves paint brushability due to its high boiling point.
