Cooling tower axial fan

One of the most important parts in the cooling tower is the aeration part and the most important member of this aeration system in the cooling tower is the part of the fan or propeller of the cooling tower. It is generally used in axial fan cooling towers. The way the axial fan works is that these propellers start rotating around a specific axis. The power transmission axis or shaft is connected to the engine by various methods such as gearbox, belt and pulley reducer or direct connection. These propellers generally rotate in different designs with rotational or angular speed in the range of 300 to 900 rpm. By increasing the diameter of the fan, the rotation speed of the fan should be reduced because high speed can cause serious damage to the fan bearings or rotating parts of the fan.

In the cooling tower, the axial fan diameter is from 55 cm to 650 cm. The number of propellers of axial fans is 4 to 8 blades. The diameter and number of propeller blades are two important elements in determining the amount of suction or aeration of axial fans.

Axial fans consist of two main parts: 1- Fan hub 2- Blade or fan blade

The material of the fan blade is generally ultra-light or lightweight, because the greater the weight and torque of the blades, over time, it puts more pressure on the engine, bearings, and power transmission shaft. Some of the materials used in making blades are polyamide, fiberglass and aluminum.
