Linear light polyethylene

The popularity of linear light polyethylene is due to its high tensile strength and puncture resistance. This feature allows converters to produce thinner films (plastic bags). The good strength of LLDPE compared to other products has also opened new fields in the application of the material.

LLDPE is structurally similar to heavy polyethylene HDPE, with advantages such as higher chemical resistance, better performance at low and high temperatures, higher softness, up to 2-3 times more resistance to puncture and more shiny!

This polymer is obtained through the copolymerization of ethylene monomer with short-chain a-olefins such as: butene or hexene or octane, a copolymer with short hydrocarbon branches is obtained and it is often used to make objects similar to plastic films (freezer bags). Its tensile, impact and puncture resistance is higher than LDPE type, and compared to it, it is possible to make a film with a lower thickness and better resistance.

However, LLDPE is not easy to work with due to its low resolution. For this reason, it is often combined with LDPE to improve this problem.

This material is mostly designed for making medical packages and multi-layer films, and it is most used for the production of packaging films.
