An insecticide is a substance or a mixture of substances that is used to prevent, destroy, stop the growth and control any type of pest; which includes during production, warehousing, storage, transportation, distribution and change and transformation of food or agriculture or animal food or any substance used to control external parasites in animals.

Pesticides are substances in liquid, solid or gas form that are used to destroy pests. Some of these pests that are not liked by humans are insects, weeds and microbes that destroy plants. Many pesticides are toxic and besides killing pests, they also harm humans.
