Flanges

One of the fasteners of pipes, valves and appliances is to each other. The flange is a piece of disk that is always connected in pairs with the help of a bolt and two pieces, but it is easy to open and is suitable for low and high pressures.
The sealing between the two flanges is carried out by the gasket between them. The flanges are made of steel and alloys, or made of cast iron and other materials.
According to the standard, the flange profile, which includes the following, should be on the flange:
Flange Manufacturer Name
The amount of pressure tolerated by the flange (also called flange class)
Flange surface shape (flange surface shape is the most important part of a flange)
Holes (sometimes also expressed as wall thickness)
Flange forming material (according to ASTM, which describes the raw materials used for the preparation of flanges).
Nominal size of the pipe (outer diameter of the pipe to which the flange will be welded)
Number or code for the heat treatment carried out on the flange
Flanges class
Flanges are divided into different classes, depending on the type of material that is proportional to the pressure they are wearing:
Pressure rating according to ANSI B16.34
According to this standard, steel flanges and alloys are classified into classes 150-300-400-600-900-1500-2500, which are the maximum pressure values in terms of PSI, in which the flanges can withstand the maximum permissible temperature, and typically the operating pressure is about 2.4 Is equal to the above numbers. (The pressure-temperature relationship for different sexes is indicated in the above-mentioned standard)

Classification of pressure according to ISO
In this standard, the pressure of the steel flanges and their alloys is shown by the PN, which indicates the nominal pressure in terms of BAR. For example, PN30 means the flange pressure of 30 BAR.

Pressure classification according to API 6A-6B-6BX
This type of flange has a higher pressure bearing than the ANSI group flanges and is classified into classes 5000-3000-2000-15000-10000.
