Variable volume terminal with parallel flow fan

Variable volume terminal with parallel flow fan (Parallel Fan-Powered VAV Box). The basic model of this type of terminal includes a primary flow damper, actuator, flow sensor and motor fan assembly and is equipped with other required controllers according to the type of use. Open coils of electric heating and hot water are also used to compensate for possible changes in space load.
The primary flow damper, which is located on the cold air path of the central ventilation system, adjusts the amount of air entering the space according to the feedback received from the thermostat. When the air temperature of the room decreases, the primary air damper reduces the air volume of the central ventilation system and the terminal fan, which is located in parallel and outside the primary air flow path, enters the space from the ceiling plenum. In case of a sharp drop in the room temperature, the terminal heating coils enter the circuit and heat the air entering the room. Therefore, both the volume of air entering the room and the volume of air supplied by the central ventilation system will be variable.
The variable volume terminal with parallel flow fan is mainly used in the external spaces of the buildings, in addition, it allows the central ventilation system to be turned off during certain periods of time when the space is empty. In this case, the fans and heating coils of the terminals independently provide the necessary heat to maintain the room temperature at the minimum required temperature of the space during the shutdown times of the central system.
