In modern buildings that have engineering and basic ventilation systems, there is always a need to supply fresh air or return air from the building. In order for only air to enter the fresh air supply channel and to prevent the entry of rain water, snow and other objects, a ventilation louvre is used on the fresh air inlet. Sometimes, the ventilation channel may end on the outer wall of the building, or the building has an air conditioner chamber, which is the location of the air conditioners and air conditioning equipment of the building. In this case, ventilation louvres are used to ensure that the facade of the building does not suffer from visual problems and that the fresh air required by the equipment and the building is provided. Typically, bird netting is used behind the louvres to prevent birds from entering. Ventilating louvres use wide Z-shaped blades with a 45-degree angle to prevent rainwater from entering as well as blocking the view inside while allowing air to pass through.

Ventilation louvres are used to supply fresh air needed for all ventilation locations. In all the rooms where the air conditioners are installed, either on the roof or in the central engine houses of the building, it is necessary to supply fresh air used by the devices and ventilation systems from the outside environment. In such cases, valves with low drop and high ventilation capability are used in the walls of the equipment installation space, which, in addition to effectively transferring the required air flow, also prevents the entry of rain, dust and small animals. These valves are called air vents.
