Mechanical filtration

In gas turbines, due to the high speed of the air and the sensitivity of the equipment, it is vital to use filters with approval and international standards. Many manufacturers or consumers consider the criteria of filter selection or construction to be only appearance similarity, in the event that filters have different ratings and sensitivities, the wrong choice of which causes the following factors:

Corrosion of turbine blades

Damage to the bearings due to the rotor being out of balance

- Creation of sediment caused by burning dust inside the combustion chamber

-Creation of corrosion and hot oxidation due to the settling of fast-melting dust particles on the surface of the turbine blades

and many other factors that cause extensive damage and reduce the life of internal parts of the turbine. None of the above factors can be detected by the intake air control systems because the above devices are only sensitive to pressure drop and when a filter with lower efficiency is used, the pressure drop is reduced and dust particles enter the system.

The best way to prevent the above factors is to use standard filters with an international certificate of test report. Mechanical filters are divided into two types: pulse jet and static.
Pulse jet filtration systems

Pulse jet (self-cleaning) filtration systems manufactured by Cool Summer Company are designed for the purpose of filtering air entering gas turbines and air contaminated with dust. These systems are able to work in harsh environments and do not require service and repair in short time intervals.

Cylindrical and conical filters are used in the pulse jet systems made by this company so that their installation and replacement is possible as soon as possible. Gaskets are installed on the sides of these filters so that air does not enter the system directly after installation.
