This type of corrosion usually penetrates as a point. The deaerator is actually a device that is used to separate insoluble gases from feed water in steam production.
Most of the deaerators are designed to lower the oxygen level even to 7 ppb or less. The first step in separating excess gases from the feed water is to heat the water so that the oxygen is removed from the water.
As we know, the presence of insoluble gases in water has an inverse relationship with temperature, that is, the higher the temperature of the water, the lower the amount of oxygen. Normally, boiler water supply sources operate at a temperature of 85 to 90 degrees to reduce the amount of oxygen in the water to 2 mg per liter.
