Properties of krypton gas

Krypton has an atomic number of 36. This element has a gaseous state at standard temperature and pressure and is placed in the fourth periodic period. Its van der Waals radius has been measured as 202 pm. This colorless gas has 6 stable isotopes and its other isotopes have half-lives between 32 seconds and 210 thousand years. Like xenon gas, krypton is more unstable near surface water and its presence is used to date underground water. The chemical formula of krypton gas is Kr. Its molecular weight is 83.80 g/mol and its boiling point at atmospheric pressure is -153.35 degrees Celsius. Krypton is not reactive, but a few ions and molecules have been discovered.
