Indications:

Amphotericin B is the most effective drug for the treatment of fungal diseases and also protozoan infections such as leishmaniasis, therefore it is used in some cases:

• Treatment of cutaneous cutaneous leishmaniasis caused by different species of Leishmania parasite

Localized recurrent and chronic fungal infections including dermatophytes

The mechanism of the work:

Amphotericin B, by attaching to the cell membranes and forming pores or channels in it, causes changes in the permeability of the cell membrane and intracellular exudates to the outside, and ultimately death and destruction of the cells. The desire for amphotericin B to bind to mushroom membranes and leishmaniasis is approximately 10 times greater than that of mammalian membranes. Therefore, in therapeutic doses, amphotericin B selectively affects mushroom and parasite cells without harm to human cells.

Advantage of Amphotericin B nanoliposomes:

In cutaneous leishmaniasis (Leishmaniasis), the growth site of the Leishmania parasite is inside the infected macrophages in the dermis of the skin. Cinnamomophilus 100 nm nanoliposomes contain amphotericin B, which, after topical application, increases the penetration of the drug into the epidermis and the dermis, and ultimately the infected macrophages of the leishmania parasite, resulting in a high concentration of drug at the site of the parasite. Therefore, the use of liposome increases the efficiency and effectiveness of amphotericin B significantly.
