With my products I want to spread joy in every respect, not just with my end customers. I want to show that a sustainable and fair production of extraordinary bags is possible and sensible. I purchase my materials exclusively from personally selected and tested manufacturers in Germany and Europe who meet my requirements 100%. When choosing the manufacturer, I attach great importance to meaningful EU certificates regarding environmental friendliness, sustainability and fair working conditions. I use a unique and very high-quality leather fiber material for all BOWLEANIES bags. The leather fiber material stands for a sensible use of resources, as it is made exclusively from production waste from the leather industry that would otherwise not be used. The leather fiber material used also offers other great and unique advantages. It is very robust, durable and dirt-resistant. And the bags with the leather fiber material can be washed in the washing machine without hesitation (30 ° C). Regular use and occasional washing change the feel of the material for the better (it becomes softer and softer and softer ...) without losing quality. All products are designed with great attention to detail and handcrafted in our in-house sewing studio in Stuttgart. Since I can no longer sew everything myself, but also don't want to have it produced anywhere at dumping prices, I occasionally get professional help from selected great girls and mums who enjoy sewing and can identify with BOWLEANIES. Who is actually behind bowleanies? This is me! Kathrin Kühner. Together with my better half, our little daughter and our surfboards, we live in our adopted city of Stuttgart. Usually. Because in summer we also like to vacation on the French Atlantic coast. For surfing. My perfect balance to the sewing machine - creativity is in my blood. I restored furniture and built things myself from an early age. This resulted in a love of sewing, handicraft and handling of different materials. All products are designed in the in-house sewing studio in Stuttgart and made by hand with great attention to detail. This means that every bag is from a single source, from design to completion. My focus is primarily on high quality, functionality and sustainability. Since the latter is very important to me and I would like to take a look at our ecological footprint, I send my products completely plastic-free.
