    In 1905, Stefan Penninger founded a company for the production of vinegar in Hauzenberg. His son Stefan learned the schnapps distillery in Lorraine and in 1920 expanded the vinegar business with fruit brandies made from local fruits. In 2015, the company received the two-country award for sustainability, social commitment and the promotion of young talent from the Lower Bavarian Government and the State of Upper Austria. In April 2020, the company moved into the newly built production site in neighboring Waldkirchen.
