The Epoisses Germain AOP matured with Marc de Bourgogne prevailed against 3472 competitors at the WORLD CHEESE AWARDS 2019 and was named the 8th best cheese in the world and the first best French cheese.

Epoisses is a soft cheese made from pasteurized cow's milk from Burgundy. The Epoisses cheese has had the AOC (Controlled Designation of Origin) since 1991 and the AOP (Protected Designation of Origin) since 1996. The Epoisses AOP Germain is an authentic product of the Burgundy region and as such is made with strict respect for the ancient recipes.
It has a full-bodied, intensely aromatic taste. During its maturation, it is washed down with Marc de Bourgogne, which turns its rind orange-red. This is suitable for consumption.

Best tasted with white bread to emphasize the taste. Opt for a dry white wine, a Meursault or a Chablis Grand Cru, for example.
